The 411 on me is that #1, I rarely say anything like “411″. I’m Tasha and I live in Alaska and share my life with a beautiful Karelian Bear Dog named “Sisu”.

We both live her name and are sisu; live the bold, couragous lifestyle of taking things as they come, striving to finish everything that we start, taking on adventures and, always, living life without regrets. I’m a knitter, dyer, new spinner, hiker, reader and hopefully soon, a homesteader/personal farmer. Leave me a comment and I would love to know you too!

Hey Tasha,
You aren’t so far away that we cant touch you! We still stay in touch with your mom, and she had a real nice visit with us here in Florida a week ago. Now I hear she made 100% on her final. I knew you got your smarts from somewhere!!
Good luck with your new adventure. I looked up Nelsons Lagoon on Google and came up with a few matches. Looks pretty windy, read that “no trees.” Should be a good place to start up your own wind generator power farm!
We think of you often, Love you always,
Uncle Steve & Aunt Cathy

Hi, I pushed the little arrow after writing a post for my blog on wordpress, and you came up. Thought I’d introduce myself.
I homesteaded with my husband in 1979, for 5 yrs., in the Adirondack mountains. Loved it. Survived the cold, the outhouse and the 1/4 mile long drive we walked up all winter. Would have stayed but circumstances, etc. Luckily for me he became my ex-, and I’ve been working toward having a life that I like a lot.
I make paper, collages, cards and “blank” journals. I like to include an inspirational or funny quote in my collages, and often sprinkle some thru the journals, so they’re not quite blank.
Have fond memories of knitting projects I’ve completed, and while I pulled out my last project, it’s still sitting on top of a box not unpacked since our move here to Iowa last fall, where my middle son (who has Down Syndrome) and I are living.
Well, I liked your recycle towel, and wish you well with your new job.
Don’t you love meeting new people online like this? I do. Best to you, Lauren
You can find me on shmooz.wordpress.com and if you go back a little you’ll see a sketch I did of my middle son.

hi. i came across you in ravelry. i was born in wrangell, alaska and continue to live in alaska after 28 years and after spending the last 3 years ‘in and out’ of alaska. i was most interested in you because you are a knitter/fiber addict. also, you have a karelian. my father, who also lives in alaska- wrangell- has had two and loves them. they have one called otso and used to have one called laiku. where are you living? and where do you plan on homesteading?

It’s a sunny Saturday in San Francisco. I make jewelry from objects I hunt for all over the world. The latest will be Burma in January after Guatemala in December. I imagined a name for a possible business, a future jewelry line so I thought let’s try The Thrill of the Hunt. I goggled it and, bingo, there you are. It sounds like you have a beautiful life snuggled up in Alaska making beautiful things. I’m a city gal, but I hike all over the world and soak in cultures and when I was younger – I’m 62- I used to be a dyer and weaver. Anyway, I’m just saying hi to another kindred spirit and good luck with your pursuits.

Hi Tasha,
I happened on your site while looking for SISU tattoos. Yours is cool. I have a dream of having a small farm and living off the land too. For now I am part of the ratrace. I think SISU would totally sum up how I am feeling right now. I have lost 70 lbs and am nearing my goal weight. I have almost decided to sign up for an Ironman triathlon. Now I just need to pick a time for the tattoo when I will be able to stay out of the pool for two weeks to let it heal! I will come back and read your site.
Cheers
Betty
